Last month, Nia Long asked a judge to grant her full physical custody of her 11-year-old son Kez Sunday Udoka. The “Love Jones” actress claimed his father, Ime Udoka, failed to pay child support.
According to Rhymeswithsnitch.com, Ime is fighting back by filing for joint physical custody to avoid paying child support.
Nia filed the custody paperwork on August 14 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The single mom requested that Ime be given “reasonable visitation” rights and pay her attorney’s fees.
In documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Ime opposed Nia’s request for primary custody of their minor son. He told the court he should be awarded joint custody.
In his newly filed response, Ime checked the box demanding joint legal and physical custody and visitation.
Ime also opposed Nia’s request for attorney fees. He said they should be responsible for their own bills.
According to TMZ, Nia said Ime is not active in their son’s life and he failed to pay child support since their very public breakup.
The news comes after rumors swirled that Nia, 52, and Ime, 46, had reunited.
They ended their 13-year relationship in 2022 after Ime was accused of cheating with a married Boston Celtics staffer.

The Celtics suspended Ime for a year in September 2022 and he was eventually fired in February.
Ime led the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals in the 2021-22 season.
In April, the Houston Rockets hired Ime as head coach and gave him a $7 million annual salary. But Nia claims she has not received a dime for their son from the multi-millionaire.
Nia also has a 22-year-old son named Massai Zhivago Dorsey II from a previous relationship.
