The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office “deferred” Matthew Perry’s cause of death, pending the final results of toxicology tests.
The 54-year-old “Friends” star drowned in a Jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home after playing pickleball for 2 hours on Saturday. An assistant found Perry unresponsive in the Jacuzzi.
Perry had a history of opioids and alcohol abuse. He was a recovering addict when he died. Perry once said he popped 55 pills a day.
Prescription bottles were found in the home but no illegal drugs were found, according to TMZ.
On Sunday afternoon the coroner released Perry’s body to his family so funeral arrangements can be made.
Within hours of Perry’s death on Saturday, anti-vaxxers re-posted his tweeted, dated May 24, 2021, that read: “Could I BE Any More Vaccinated? Get your shot and then get your shirt. Shop the entire collection at http://represent.com/matthewperry Only available for a limited time.”
In an attached photo, Perry wore a black t-shirt from his online store with the words: “Could I be any more vaccinated?” printed on the front. Perry’s merchandise store is now closed.
