Ciara Wilson recently opened up about her split from ex-fiancé Future Hendrix.
In Wednesday’s episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Ciara explained when she decided it was time to pull the plug on her relationship with Future in 2014.
“When you know you’re supposed to make a super-defined decision in your life, you know it from, like, the head to your feet and your soul and your body, you know it. It’s almost like your taste buds change… You gotta look in the mirror and reflect too, like, ‘What are things I could be doing differently in my life?’ or ‘I’m looking for a change, but what does that mean?'”
Ciara said giving birth to her first child, Future’s son, gave her a different perspective on life. The mom-of-4 was dismayed that Future continued to cheat on her – even as she planned their wedding which was canceled at the last minute.
Ciara, 37, was fortunate enough to have her father to be a strong male role model for her son when Future dipped.
“When you have a child, it’s very important to me, like now it’s no time to play around. The whole like, experimentation kind of phase is out the door. I am now responsible for another life. So what am I doing? How am I thinking that through? And when you’re tired, you’re tired. We get tired and we don’t want to be tired all the time. I’m like, ‘I want joy. I want to make sure my cup is full.'”
Ciara offered advice to other women who need bad boys in their lives.
“Don’t let anybody waste your time,” she said.
“I don’t care if it’s a relationship or friendship, business, whatever it is. Don’t let it waste your time,” the pregnant singer said. “It’s just not worth it. Those are things that come to my mind, how I process when there’s a pivotal moment in my life and in any aspect of my life.”
