Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she and husband Will Smith have been separated for seven long years.

The 52-year-old actress and mom-of-two shared the shocking news in a PEOPLE interview. She will also open up about her single life in a sit-down interview with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb for an NBC News primetime special set to air this morning (Oct. 11).

It was rumored for years that Will and Jada had an open marriage and dated other people.

Jada told PEOPLE that she and Will, who tied the knot in 1997, are still good friends and they’re trying to “figure out” what the future of their marriage looks like.

Will reportedly moved out of their home, and they were living separately when he smacked comedian Chris Rock during the 2022 Oscar Awards.

Jada says they still work together on movie projects, even though they aren’t bed buddies anymore.

“We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,” she said. “We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like.”
