Rapper Cam’ron says Larsa Pippen is to blame after the Los Angeles Lakers cut her son, Scotty Pippen Jr., from the team.
In July 2022 the 6-ft-1, undrafted point guard signed a two-way contract with the Lakers to play for their G League affiliate South Bay Lakers.
On September 7, 2023, he re-signed with the Lakers, and was waived on October 17, 2023.
Scotty’s mother Larsa, 49, is dating Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, 32. Their relationship has put some distance between Marcus and his famous father.
Scotty Jr. is Larsa’s son with Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen.
“It’s his mother. It ain’t got nothing to do with Scotty,” said Cam’ron in an episode of his “It Is What It Is” podcast.
“They know damn well they don’t need that mess at the game,” Cam’ron added. Retired rapper Ma$e agreed with Cam’ron: “The Lakers don’t want that around,” he said.
Cam’ron continued: “Listen, Jeanie Buss and all them ain’t got time for that nonsense… You know it only takes one call: Michael Jordan calls Magic Johnson, Magic Johnson calls Jeanie Buss, shut it down.”
