Some American families celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah this holiday season.
Rapper Drake’s mom, Sandi, is a Canadian Ashkenazi Jew. His father, musician Dennis Graham, is Black. In addition to a Christmas tree, Drake lights a menorah in his home.
Former NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire and his wife Alexis Welch celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah. Amar’e was raised Baptist. His mother was a Black Hebrew Israelite. He converted to Judaism in 2020.
Singer Pink (Alecia Beth Moore Hart) and husband Carey Hart celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas in their home. Her mother is Jewish.
Actress Scarlett Johansson’s mom is Jewish, so she celebrates both Christmas and Hanukkah.
You probably didn’t know Rashida Jones was part Jewish. Rashida is the daughter of record producer Quincy Jones, who is Black, and the late actress Peggy Lipton, who was Jewish. Rashida is married to musician Ezra Koenig, who is also Jewish.
Actor Timothée Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner will celebrate their first Christmas and Hanukkah as a couple. Timothée’s mother, Nicole, is half Russian Jewish and half Austrian Jewish.

Ashton Kutcher’s wife, actress Mila Kunis, is Jewish. They celebrated with an Instagram photo of a toy Santa Claus figurine standing behind a menorah. In the caption, the actor wrote, “We see miracles happen when we make miracles happen for others. #happyhanukkah.”
Actress/singer Kat Graham is biracial and her mother, Natasha, is Jewish. Kat’s father was a music executive and the godfather of 2 of producer Quincy Jones’ children. She was raised in her mother’s Jewish religion and attended a Hebrew school.
Actor/rapper Daveed Diggs was born to a Jewish mother and Black father. His parents named him “Daveed,” which is the Hebrew pronunciation of David. “David means beloved in Hebrew,” Daveed said in an interview. “They spelled it with two Es because my dad liked the look of it.”
Vice President Kamala Harris is the daughter of an Indian mother and Irish/Jamaican father. Her husband, Doug Emhoff, is the son of Jewish parents. They shared an Instagram photo that shows them lighting a menorah together.
