Kim Kardashian turned off her Instagram and Twitter/X comments and went into hiding after Taylor Swift’s angry fans attacked her online.
Kardashian still hasn’t apologized for the leaked call scandal that sent Swift into a deep depression in 2016.
Swift unloaded on Kardashian in her Time “Person of the Year” cover story published on Wednesday, Dec. 6.
The drama unfolded in 2016 when Kanye West called Swift and asked for permission to include her name in the lyrics to his hit track “Famous.”
In the song, he rapped that he “might still have sex” with Swift because “I made that bitch famous.”
Swift was appalled when she heard the lyric. She denied granting permission for West to use her name alongside the lyric.
Then Kim released an audio snippet that appeared to prove Swift granting permission to West to use alongside the lyric.
“That took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before,” Swift told Time magazine. “I moved to a foreign country. I didn’t leave a rental house for a year. I was afraid to get on phone calls. I pushed away most people in my life because I didn’t trust anyone anymore. I went down really, really hard,” Swift added.
In March 2020, Variety magazine released the full transcript of the phone call that proved Swift did not know about the “I made that bitch famous” lyric.
In her cover story for Time, Swift said of Kardashian, “You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar.”
Sources told TMZ that Kardashian still has not apologized to Swift for her ordeal.
Swift’s fans, aka “Swifties,” dragged Kim on her social media pages on Wednesday and early Thursday. Kim turned off the comments in her most recent SKIMS post on Instagram which currently has over 32,000 comments that aren’t visible.
She also cut off her Twitter/X comments and deleted many of the hostile comments.
Sources say Kim is beefing up her security after getting threats.
Kanye West was cancelled for his antisemitic rant last year. He is currently living in self-imposed exile in Europe.
