Lil Wayne is being sued by one of his former bodyguards over an alleged threat with an assault rifle.
In legal documents obtained by The Blast, Carlos Christian accused the “Lollipop” rapper of assault and inflicting emotional distress.
Christian claims Wayne threatened him with an assault rifle and then punched him in the head at the rapper’s Hidden Hills, California, mansion in 2021.
In court documents, the 41-year-old rapper allegedly flashed a semi-automatic rifle at Christian after the two men got into a physical altercation.
Afterwards, Christian left the property and immediately called the police.
No charges were filed against Lil Wayne, who was born Dwayne Carter.
Lil Wayne “committed battery against (the bodyguard) in that while holding a gun, punched him on his ear with his fist,” the lawsuit reads.
He added, Wayne “engaged in outrageous conduct, specifically, erratically threatening, assaulting, and battering (him) while holding a semiautomatic rifle.” Plus, he claims to have been “harmed, including without limitation sustaining a physical and emotional injury, incurring medical bills, and losing immediate wages and having his earning capacity reduced.”
Christian is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.
In 2009, Wayne pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He was sentenced to one year in jail, which he served at New York’s Rikers Island correctional facility.
