Earlier this week, Taraji P. Henson broke down in tears while appearing on Gayle King’s SiriusXM show to promote The Color Purple.
The 53-year-old actress became emotional while discussing the unequal pay she receives as one of the top Black actresses in Hollywood.
Many on social media assumed she was low-key dissing Oprah, one of the producers of The Color Purple.
Some Sandrarose.com readers insinuated that Oprah is tight with her money.
However, Taraji thanked Oprah in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Taraji wrote in the caption:
“It is so important for black women and ALL women of color to support each other.
It is also imperative to have women of color in decision making positions across ALL industries.
Thank you for responding to my message with the compassion, understanding and support that I’ve received.”
Taraji added:
“It took ONE CALL… ONE CONVERSATION… and ONE DECISION MAKING BLACK WOMAN to make me feel heard.”
