Gary Owen reacted to Katt Williams’ criticism of the top Black comedians during an episode of his podcast.
Owen discussed working with Steve Harvey and says the money he received was “minimum wage.”
In a video clip on his TikTok page, Owen said he earned four times more money when he worked on Deray Davis’s “Hip Hop Squares” than he did doing voiceover work for Steve’s daytime talk show.
Owen said he wanted to work with Harvey, but was relegated to doing voiceovers.
Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show eventually replaced Harvey’s show.
Owen co-signed some of the comments made by Katt about the energy that Rickey Smiley brought to the filming of Friday After Next.
Owen also admitted he was s*xually propositioned by a male Hollywood producer or director. But he declined to name-drop the guy.
“I can’t say this is 100% that’s where this was going but it felt like it. You gotta be in the room to feel it and I was like this dude is really coming on to me. He will remain nameless but he was feeling me out. I made it very clear I like women.”
Katt said incarcerated former Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein propositioned him for s*x, as well.
