Food Network Star Darnell Ferguson was arrested Tuesday in Kentucky on charges of strangulation, assault and theft of a credit card.
According to People.com, Ferguson was arrested on multiple charges, including strangulation, burglary and making terroristic threats.
He is being held without bond at the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections.
A woman told police Ferguson choked her and said he would kill her before she lost consciousness.
Ferguson also reportedly stole the woman’s credit card and/or debit card.
Ferguson faces misdemeanor charges of assault, menacing, criminal mischief and theft-receipt of a stolen credit or debit card.
According to court records obtained by WHAS 11, WDRB and Courier Journal, the woman filed a restraining order against him on Jan. 2.
Ferguson married Tatahda Ferguson in 2016. They have eight children.
The 36-year-old Philadelphia native hosts “Superchef Grudge Match” on the Food Network.
Last year, he co-hosted Season 25 of “Worst Cooks in America” alongside Anne Burrell.
He also appeared in 3 seasons of Guy Fieri’s “Tournament of Champions” and has recently appeared on OWN’s “The Big Holiday Food Fight” and “Food Fantasies.”
Ferguson previously owned several restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky, including SuperChefs, which closed in July 2022, according to WDRB.
