Former drug lord Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is set to be released from prison next year.

In 2005, Flenory was indicted on drug trafficking charges and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

According to reports, a judge recently approved Flenory’s release from prison 32 months early. The 55-year-old Detroit native is set to be released in 2025.

Flenory and his brother, Terry Lee “Southwest Tee” Flenory, established BMF Entertainment in Atlanta, Ga. as a promotion agency and record label for hip-hop music.

But the feds say the agency was a front for money laundering and a nationwide cocaine distribution enterprise.

BMF reportedly made over $270 million trafficking in cocaine.

In 2005, the DEA indicted members of the Black Mafia Family (BMF) and ultimately shut down the drug trafficking operation, based in Atlanta and California.

But, in the years prior, Big Meech made his mark on Atlanta’s hip-hop music scene by promoting and financing the careers of rappers such as Young Jeezy and Bleu Da Vinci.

Meech and BMF were the originators of the term “making it rain” in the strip clubs.

Creative Loafing senior editor Mara Shalhoup published a three-part series about BMF titled “Hip-Hop’s Shadowy Empire.”

The series details the rise and fall of one of America’s most notorious drug dealers.

Flenory is praised for helping his fellow inmates by presenting seminars on health and fitness. He’s also a bodybuilder.

In various prison photos, Flenory is seen flexing his muscles in the prison yard.

Flenory has 2 children, son Demetrius Flenory Jr. aka “Little Meech”, who portrays his father in the “Black Mafia Family” television series.

Meech also has a grown daughter, Manessa Mia Hussey, who is the spitting image of her father.
