Nozipho Ntshangase (left), of the “Mommy Club” Season 2, is making headlines after her husband, Zola Ntshangase took a second wife (right).

Polygamy is legal in South Africa in accordance with the Recognition of Customary Marriages Act. But Nozipho is very upset about the new addition to her family.

A viral video shows the mom-of-eight arguing with Zola in front of their children.

Nozipho, 38, is a busy “momfluencer” business woman from Johannesburg who has little time to devote to her husband.

In his statement on Instagram, Zola confirmed that he has taken a second wife named Misokuhle.

He said he paid the customary “lobola” for his second wife.

A lobola is the opposite of a dowry, which the bride pays to the husband’s family.

In South Africa, the husband pays a lobola to his bride’s family.

In his statement, Zola defended his new bride.

“I wish to confirm the rumors… The disparaging remarks levelled [sic] at Misokuhle are tantamount to an unfair treatment that is characterised by abuse and stigmatisation. Such acts lead to gender-based violence, which unfortunately is disproportionally directed towards women within the context of South African society. I therefore request that we observe the law in our endeavour to prosecute Misokuhle in the court of public opinion without having an account of the full facts in what is still a very personal and sensitive matter.”

Many women on TikTok sympathized with Nozipho.

Not surprisingly, the men all side with Zola.

Twitter/X user Shadaya Knight cautioned Zola to save money for himself that his wives and children don’t know about.

“Women will poison and weaponize children against their fathers. In this case Nozipho has already brainwashed the kids that their father is bad, that’s why they have turned against him. Children always take the mother’s side,” Shadaya tweeted on Wednesday.

He continued: “This is a lesson to every man, no matter how much you love your wife and kids, save something on the side for yourself only. Have some investments that your wife and kids don’t know about. Because in your old age, you may be alone, your children turned against you by their mother.”

He concluded, “You see it everytime, in their old ages, fathers are usually abandoned or cared for less, being punished by the children because they inherited their mother’s anger towards the father.”
