Regina King turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s “Shirley” on March 19. The 53-year-old actress wore a leg-baring little black dress to the premiere.
The half frock, half skort features a long train connecting the garment to her wrist with a gold link chain. Regina paired her outfit with gold metallic pointy toe pumps.
Regina and her younger sister Reina King worked on the Chisholm project for 15 years. They pose together with “Shirley” director John Ridley on the black carpet.
The biopic is about the late Shirley Chisholm, the first Black congresswoman and the first Black female presidential hopeful.
“What she did was so pioneering,” Regina told Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “She was a true maverick and, you know, we use this term all the time, but she was a true first.”
Also attending the premiere were Vivica A. Fox, Malika Andrews, Keshia Knight Pulliam, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Lena Waithe, Niecy Nash-Betts and Jessica Betts, Tabitha Brown, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, and more!
