“Sister Wives” star Garrison Brown, son of polygamists Janelle and Kody Brown, has died by suicide at age 25. The former spouses announced their son’s death on Tuesday, March 5.
“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Janelle wrote on Instagram. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
According to a police report obtained by Variety, Garrison died “as a result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.” His body was found at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Police say Garrison’s brother Gabriel, 22, found him deceased.
No foul play
“At this time there is not any indication of foul play, and Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division are investigating,” said Lt. Charles M. Hernandez II of the Flagstaff Police Department.
TLC’s “Sister Wives” focused on Kody Brown, a polygamist, who was married to four women at the same time. Kody and Christine Brown divorced in 2021 after 25 years together.
Janelle and Keri Brown both confirmed their separation from Kody in 2022. He is still married to Robyn Brown.
Christine, Robyn and Meri were all raised in polygamist families.
Meri Brown, who helped raise Garrison, paid tribute to him on Instagram, “Garrison, you are loved and will be missed!”
Janelle and Kody also share kids Logan, 29, Madison, 28, Hunter, 27, Gabriel, 22, and Savanah, 19.
Kody is dad to 12 other children by his current and former wives.
