Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has retained an attorney after Dallas police say he and 4 friends fled the scene of a 6-vehicle accident on Saturday.

Witnesses at the scene say Rice, 23, and his friends removed “guns and bags” from their wrecked cars before fleeing on foot.

Josina Anderson of CBSSports.com reports that Rice retained counsel in the hours after the crash involving a Corvette registered to him.

Dash cam footage shows a black Chevrolet Corvette and a black Lamborghini SUV racing in the far left lane on the Central Expressway near University Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the Lamborghini driver lost control and hit the center median wall “causing a chain reaction collision”.

Both vehicles spun out and crashed into 4 other vehicles on the highway.

Video and photos obtained by TMZ show 3 men hop out of the Lamborghini SUV and 2 men get out of the Corvette and walk away.

Reddit users identified the man wearing a black hoodie and a red durag as Rice. The man with the red durag got out of the passenger side of the Lamborghini SUV after the crash.

Two people were treated at the scene and 2 others were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

Dallas police say the Corvette is registered or leased to Rice, according to The Dallas Morning News. The Morning News reported that Rice was the driver of the Corvette.

Rice moved to Texas in the third grade and played on the Richland High School football team. He attended Southern Methodist University, where he was a standout wide receiver. Rice led the nation in receiving yards per game in his senior year.

The Chiefs picked Rice in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He won a Super Bowl with the team in February.

The NFL and the Chiefs have not responded to WFAA’s request for comment.
