Sexyy Red dropped the old skool R&B version of her raunchy rap hit “Pound Town.” That sounds like Monica on the chorus.
The remix was released on Hotown Records, according to Defiant Digital‘s Instagram page. The IG page captioned the post: “Gramma used to play this record all day! Simpler times.”
The song is reminiscent of Motown acts the Supremes and Martha Reeves and the Vandellas. Instagram users say the song has a ’60s nostalgia sound that reminded of the good ol’ days.
Sexyy Red’s single “Get It” landed in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Her previous best was “SkeeYee” which rose to No. 17.
