Police recently released bodycam video that shows a confrontation between cops and an 18-year-old shoplifter at a suburban Sephora cosmetics store.

On December 26, 2023, mall security detained 2 juveniles for allegedly stealing less than $1,000 worth of cosmetics. When police arrived, the loss prevention agent said the 18-year-old gave her name as “Jasmine” and her age as 17.

“Jasmine” and a 16-year-old accomplice were arrested. But Jasmine did not go quietly.

She was upset that mall security caught her “20 feet away from the store” and they didn’t allow her to pay for the items she stole.

“Wait. So, we can’t just pay for it?” she asked.

When told she was being charged, Jasmine became defiant and said, “You’re gonna have to drag me into the car.”

Jasmine tearfully told police, “I already have a past charge. If I get another one, I won’t go to college! So I’m not doing this sh*t! You just wanna see me lose.”

The police conducted themselves professionally. They were calm but firm with the entitled juvenile.

A wild scuffle broke out when Jasmine refused the cops’ demands to “stand up.”

Jasmine’s wig and hat came off during the scuffle. She cried for her mom and a lawyer.

Down at police headquarters, an officer spoke with Jasmine’s mother, who revealed Jasmine’s real name and age.

Surprisingly, Jasmine’s mother was well-spoken and cooperative — unlike her wild child.
