Bronny James delivered his best performance as the Lakers won their first game in the NBA Summer League.

The 19-year-old scored 12 points to help the Lakers defeat the Atlanta Hawks G League team 87-86 on Wednesday in Las Vegas.

Bronny also hit his first 3-pointer in the Summer League on Wednesday. He is now 2-for-18 from three point range.

Bronny received a technical foul after exchanging words with the officials in the second half. The Lakers locked down their defense in the second half to secure their first win.

The Lakers are now 1-4 in the Summer League.

Afterwards, Bronny said he was laser focused on his game. “I just tried to forget about all the shots I missed, forget about all the games we lost. Just come out and play my game and try to do my best everytime we come out on the court. That’s what I did tonight and it ended up well.”

The Lakers selected LeBron James’ eldest son with the 55th pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

Lakers fans say Wednesday’s game gave him the confidence he needed to overcome his poor shooting so far.
