In 2019 Netflix cancelled a documentary that linked root canals to cancer. The film “Root Cause” was viewed millions of times. Then it disappeared from Netflix.

The movie centered around “one man’s extraordinary, personal journey” to find the root cause of his health problems. His journey exposed “one of the world’s greatest medical industry cover-ups.”

It turns out, Netflix cancelled “Root Cause” because the streaming giant was hit with a class-action lawsuit by the American Association of Endontists.

The dental professionals complained that the film spread “misinformation” about root canals.

In the movie, doctors explain that the dead root of a tooth is the only “dead organ” that is left inside the body.

Dr. David Minkoff explains, “If you think that you can get away with an infected, toxic tooth and not have a systemic consequence, I think you’re deluding yourself.”

“The vast majority of chronic degenerative diseases begin with problems in the mouth,” says Dr. Thomas E. Levy.

The movie claims root canals (dead roots) can lead to chronic fatigue, heart disease, diabetes, and even breast cancer.

A recent study found that 99% of women diagnosed with breast cancer had a root canal tooth on the same side as their breast cancer.

Dr. Levy says 25 million new root canals are performed a year in the United States.

“One of the greatest public health interventions we could possibly do is to make the root canal procedures something of the past, because [a root canal] does nothing positive for the general health of the body at all,” he added.
