Rapper T.I.’s son King Harris was arrested this week in Dunwoody, Georgia for failure to appear at a hearing in Pickens County.
Harris, 19, was pulled over by the arresting officer after the car he was driving nearly hit the officer’s patrol cruiser outside a gas station.
The officer turned on his lights and siren and pulled over the BMW that Harris was driving.
According to the arrest report, the officer smelled the distinct odor of marijuana as he approached the car.
As the officer spoke to Harris, they noticed the teenager had a gun on his hip. The officer ran a check on his driver’s license and learned the aspiring rapper was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Pickens County.
“I informed Mr. Harris that I would need to speak with him outside and opened the driver side door. Mr. Harris was cooperative, and I removed the firearm from his hip with no issue. I then had Mr. Harris step out of the vehicle and I detained him by placing handcuffs on him. I escorted Mr. Harris to my patrol vehicle, conducted a pat down, and placed him into the rear of my vehicle,” the arresting officer wrote in the police report.
The officer also detained 2 passengers in the car for marijuana possession after searching them and finding 2 small baggies of weed.
Harris and his passengers were booked into the DeKalb County Jail.
Harris was bonded out of jail by his father, rap star Clifford “T.I.” Harris Jr., who recently announced he is retiring from touring.
T.I. said he doesn’t need the money anymore after he was awarded $71 million in a lawsuit against a toy maker.
T.I. won’t see a dime of the money until after the toy maker loses their appeal.
King is T.I.’s son by Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Harris. The arrest comes a week after King attended a baby shower for his first child in Atlanta.
T.I.'s son, King Harris, and his girlfriend, Nana, celebrated her pregnancy at their baby shower as they prepare for the arrival of their first child: a baby boy.
