Sports analyst Randy Moss surprised viewers of ESPN’s “Sunday NFL Countdown” when he asked for prayers for an “internal” health issue.

In an Instagram live-streamed video on Sunday, Moss said “all you men” should “get your blood work done and we’ll work through it.”

The previous week, viewers noted the whites of Moss’s eyes were tinged yellow. In response to questions about his health, Moss confirmed he is facing a serious health issue and asked viewers to pray for him and his family.

“People were talking about my eyes last week,” Moss said as he turned the camera phone toward former NY Jets coach Rex Ryan.

“I’m battling something man and it’s something internal, your boy is going to get through it,” Moss, 47, continued. “I got a great team of doctors and got a great family around me.”

“If y’all see me with these,” he said, referring to the sunglasses, “it’s not because I’m being disrespectful because I’m on television, it’s because I’m battling something,” Moss told the ESPN audience.

NBA legend Michael Jordan also faced rumors that he has end-stage liver disease. The rumors started after this photo was published by Getty Images in September.

In the photo, the whites of Jordan’s eyes are yellow — a sign of jaundice which is caused by liver disease. In addition to liver cancer, hepatitis, and cirrhosis of the liver, jaundice can be caused by diseases affecting the gallbladder and the head of the pancreas.
