Jay-Z’s gig as entertainment czar for the NFL’s Super Bowl halftime show is in jeopardy. If Jay-Z loses his NFL gig, Kendrick Lamar could also be out as the halftime performer.
Sources say the Super Bowl committee is scrambling to do damage control after Jay-Z was accused of assaulting a minor child in 2000.
Celebrities such as 50 Cent are turning up the heat by fanning the flames on social media.

The unwanted media attention surrounding the allegations may spill over into Roc Nation’s successful partnership with the National Football League.
Jay-Z, 55, serves as executive producer of the Super Bowl halftime show. His company, Roc Nation transformed the halftime show from rock and country music to feature diverse artists, such as Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, The Weeknd, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige.
The ad revenue for the 12-to-15-minute halftime show alone could bring in eight figures, and advertisers are notoriously nervous about scandals closely aligned with their brands.
The NFL and its broadcast partner prefer to steer clear of controversy, especially after Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” fiasco in 2004.
When Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake sullied the XXXVIII halftime show with their “nipple gate” stunt, the ramifications and repercussions were swift.
Janet was banned from performing in any halftime show, but Justin got a slap on the wrist. He claimed not to know about Janet’s stunt in advance.
Rumor has it that Taylor Swift has been secretly approached to replace Kendrick Lamar if Jay-Z is asked to step down.
Jay-Z’s legal team filed a motion on Monday asking a judge to expedite the lawsuit and force his accuser to identify herself publicly.
But sources say the woman will be exposed to harassment and threats from Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s fans.
