Sunny Hostin’s marriage to Dr. Emmanuel “Manny” Hostin is on the rocks, according to Radar Online. Sunny and Emmanuel’s marriage went south after he was hit with a federal insurance fraud lawsuit in New York recently.
The lawsuit alleges that the doctor “knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries” that were unnecessary.
The suit alleged that Dr. Hostin saw 2 car accident patients who had minor “soft tissue injuries.” But Dr. Hostin allegedly filed claims for arthroscopic surgery for both patients who did not have joint injuries.
Additionally the doctor is accused of billing American Transit “in exchange for kickbacks and/or other compensation which were disguised as dividends or other cash distributions,” according to the suit.
But the Hostins’ lawyer Mark Geragos hit back in a letter, accusing the company of “unscrupulous tactics,” and warned that “Dr. Hostin and his family will not be intimidated.”
RadarOnline.com can reveal Sunny is “furious and demanding answers from her husband. No one would be surprised if she kicks him to the curb if the case doesn’t turn out the way she wants,” the source said.
According to the insider, Sunny, 56, is terrified of what the lawsuit may do to her carefully crafted public image and career.
“Sunny used to brag she had it so good: the perfect family, a loving husband, and a luxurious lifestyle that her job on The View and his practice afforded, but this scandal has knocked Sunny off her stride,” an insider said.
“She may have some explaining to do to the ladies on The View, and they might be catty enough to bring it up on the show,” the insider added.
Sunny, who is a former prosecutor, has not mentioned the lawsuit at all on The View – even while recently bragging about her “helpful” husband.
The insider said that shows how “insecure and worried” Sunny really is. “All she’s doing is burying her head in the sand.”
Sunny and Emmanuel share kids Gabriel, 22, and Paloma, 18.
