
Rapper Sean Kingston broke down and cried after a jury convicted him and his mother of wire fraud in a Florida courtroom on Friday, the NY Post reported.
A WPLG reporter was in the courtroom as the verdict was read. Sean was seen crying with his hands clasped together as the jury read its verdict inside the Fort Lauderdale federal court, WPLG reported.

The “Beautiful Girls” singer and his mother Janice Turner were convicted of charges stemming from their May 2024 arrests.

Sean and his mother are accused of running a multi-million dollar fraud scheme.
Broward County SWAT teams and dozens of deputies raided Sean Kingston’s Florida home on May 23, 2024. Janice was taken away in handcuffs.

Sean, 35, was arrested later that same day during a concert at an Army base in California.
A company called Ver Ver Entertainment sued Kingston over a $150,000 entertainment system that was installed in the house but never paid for.
Sean and his mother are accused of scamming other companies, including car dealerships, a jewelry store, several banks and a mattress firm.

Janice, 62, was accused by the judge of being the “fixer and nerve center” in charge of the fraud scheme.
After the verdict was read, “Mama Kingston,” as Janice is known on Instagram, was taken into custody and ordered held at the Broward County Jail after the judge considered her to be a flight risk because of her testimony during the trial.
“Protect my mother,” the rapper cried out as US Marshalls escorted Janice to jail, WPLG reported.
Kingston’s lawyer described him as a “child” who did not understand finances and would spend money with no regard.
Kingston is on house arrest in South Florida after paying a $200,000 surety bond in cash.
He also has to put up a relative’s $500,000 house as part of the bond requirement.
Sean and his mother face decades in prison when they are sentenced.
