Update: Rapper Young Thug reacted on X (Twitter) after Fulton County prosecutors filed a motion to revoke his probation on Tuesday, April 2.
In the motion, prosecutors alleged Young Thug’s “escalating threats and witness intimidation” as the reasons for the request.
The “Lifestyle” rapper, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, is currently serving a 15-year probation as part of a plea deal related to a RICO case.
In a document obtained by WSB-TV, the state said Young Thug’s actions threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors.
“Since sentencing, the Defendant has engaged in conduct that threatens the safety of witnesses and prosecutors, compromises ongoing legal proceedings, and warrants immediate revocation of probation.”
However, Thug denied making any threats toward an Atlanta Police Department gang investigator or toward prosecutors.
“I don’t make [threats] to people I’m a good person, I would never condone anyone threatening anyone or definitely participate in threatening anyone. I’m all about peace and love,” he wrote.
Young Thug, 33, jeopardized his bond status when he went after APD gang investigator Marissa Viverito in a post on X (Twitter) on Tuesday, April 1.
Ms. Viverito oversees the Violent Crime Interdiction Section, and serves as an Investigative Gang Analyst for the Atlanta Police Department.
In his X post, Young Thug accused Viverito of covering up evidence that shows aspiring rapper Young Scooter was fatally shot by police on Friday, March 28.
“Biggest liar in the DA office,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
A medical examiner’s report shows aspiring rapper Young Scooter died from a serious leg injury while fleeing police.
Viverito testified against Young Thug when he was on trial for violating Georgia’s RICO Act.
She presented wiretap evidence in a RICO case the state is preparing to file against rapper Lil Baby, who is accused of hiring a hitman to kill his opps in Atlanta.
