WNBA star Skylar Diggins is back on the market after 8 years of marriage to Daniel Smith. Her followers noticed she dropped her husband’s surname from her social media pages. Skylar addressed her sudden name change during the Seattle Storm’s media day.
“Yes. Thank you for the question, too,” said Skylar who previously went by Skylar Diggins-Smith. “Yes, it does say Skylar Diggins, and I would like to be addressed as that moving forward.”

“Thank you guys so much, and as always, my focus is on being a great teammate, adding value to this team on and off the floor and in this community, and as always, being a good mom to my two babies,” the 34-year-old single mother added.
“It won’t change for none of y’all anyways, you know what I’m saying? Some of y’all just call me whatever y’all want to call me anyways,” she said with a smile.

Skylar caused a commotion when she got engaged to Daniel Smith, a former Notre Dame wide receiver. They were married in 2017, and she changed her last name to Diggins-Smith.

Skylar was drafted out of Notre Dame No. 3 overall by the Tulsa Shock in 2013. She was a fan favorite. Celebrities and rappers sat at courtside at her games.

In 2013, Skylar became the first female athlete to sign with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports. She also signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Nike. She is pictured with rapper Drake at the 2014 ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
