Rihanna officially releases a new club track titled “Friend Of Mine” from Paramount Animation’s SMURFS Movie Soundtrack via Roc Nation Distribution.
Rihanna’s fans have been waiting years to hear new music from their queen. But it’s hard to understand what she’s singing, so Rihanna also released a lyric video for the track HERE.
Rihanna voices Smurfette in the film, which hits theaters on July 18th.
When announcing the film back in 2023 at CinemaCon, Rihanna — who was then pregnant with second son Riot Rose — told the crowd, “I get to show up in my PJs in my third trimester … I hope this gives me cool points with my kids one day.”
“Friend Of Mine” is the second song off the soundtrack following “Higher Love” by DESI TRILL featuring DJ Khaled and Cardi B.
The movie soundtrack will also feature a new song from Tyla.
When Papa Smurf (John Goodman) is kidnapped by evil wizards, Smurfette (Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. SMURFS features an all-star voice cast including Rihanna, James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, and more!
