Sean Combs’ RICO trial resumed in a Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday, May 27, with testimony from Combs’ former assistant Capricorn Clark.
In the third week of the trial, Capricorn Clark testified that Combs, 55, accused her of stealing jewelry while working for him. Combs’ bodyguard Paul Offord, known as Uncle Paulie, conducted a search of Clark’s house, but he didn’t find the missing jewelry. The next day, Offord took her to a dilapidated building in New York that would soon become the corporate offices for Bad Boy Worldwide.
According to USA Today, Clark said Offord took her to the sixth floor where she was met by a “very wide, very heavy” man, who she described as “five of me across. He was very wide.” Clark was told she was there to take a lie detector test.
Clark’s voice cracked and she began crying as she recalled the terror she experienced that day.
“If you fail this test, they’re gonna throw you in the East River,” the man told her. Clark said, “I was petrified. I was afraid what would happen if I didn’t pass this test.”
Clark recalled the polygraph session lasted for 5 days. She was told she couldn’t leave “until we get to the bottom of this,” Clark said on the witness stand.
“I wanted to prove my innocence. I didn’t like the threats,” Clark told the court. “I was just trying to survive it.”
Clark revealed Combs’ list of enemies included incarcerated former music mogul Suge Knight and rapper 50 Cent.
Clark said she had a personal connection to Knight. He is the father of her best friend’s children.
She testified that Combs threatened her when he learned of their friendship.
Combs told her that he wouldn’t have hired her if he knew she was friends with Suge Knight, and “if anything happened, he would have to kill me.”
Last week, rapper Kid Cudi took the witness stand and testified that Combs broke into his house and firebombed his Porsche when Combs found out Cudi was dating Cassie Ventura during “a break” from Combs.
