In a recent livestream chat, Cardi opened up about the devastating effects of her failed marriage to rapper Offset – and why she’s happy to be rid of him.
Cardi, 32, and Offset, 33, met in early 2017. They were secretly married later the same year. Offset allegedly began cheating on his wife before she fell pregnant with their first child in 2018.
She filed for divorce in 2024. In her live chat this week, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper said she would “end up killing” Offset if they remained together for one more day.
“I don’t think people understand how tired I was. How tired, how mentally drained I was,” she told fans, according to PEOPLE. “Drained, drained, drained. Couldn’t eat. I was getting frequent headaches. I was literally losing my mind.”
Cardi said she took Offset back after every incidence of infidelity because she wanted her children to know their father.
Offset’s cheating ways nearly landed Cardi B in prison. She was arrested in October 2018 and charged with assaulting two female bartenders at a strip club in Queens, NY. One of the women allegedly had an affair with Offset.
“I was going to end up going to jail, ’cause I was going to end up killing them. Seriously, with my own bare hands. ‘Cause it was just getting so … it was just getting too much,” Cardi B explained.
