Mariah Carey treated her fans to a preview of her new single, “Type Dangerous,” on Wednesday, June 4. The single is the first release off her sixteenth studio album.
“Type Dangerous” describes the type of man that the 56-year-old pop singer is attracted to. The full song will grace radio airwaves on June 6.
After listening to the preview, some fans say it doesn’t sound like Mimi. The songbird is known for her soaring vocals and high octave range. Only a few artists can reach those highs.
But Mariah’s vocals on “Type Dangerous” sound like she’s purposefully holding back on her natural abilities.
“Type Dangerous” marks Mimi’s first non-holiday release since 2018’s critically-acclaimed “Caution.”
