An Atlanta man is trying to fill a void in single-parent households by teaching teenage girls basic car maintenance. Many Black girls grow up without a father figure to teach them the basics such as changing a tire or when to add oil to the engine.
King Randall, who goes by the Twitter handle @NewEmergingKing, shared the videos on X (Twitter) on June 28. He captioned one video:
“‘When you gon’ do something for the girls?’ I pulled up and popped a hood! Taught basic car maintenance to teen girls at a girls empowerment academy in Atlanta. Flat tires and empty oil tanks do not care about gender. A smart woman knows how to move without waiting on nobody.”

King Randall taught the girls how to change a tire, where to find the correct tire pressure for their particular car, and how to check when the oil is low.
Trolls: Those girls weren’t paying attention to the lessons.
Just because I didn’t ask them to respond didn’t mean they weren’t listening. They repeated just about everything I taught them!
Didn’t need to go in depth of course. pic.twitter.com/WZydZxcytE

Randall complained when another popular X account re-posted his video and cropped out his name.
“My tag is literally on the video. I appreciate you all sharing but why crop out my name?” Randall wrote.
What you taught them was invaluable & every young person- boys and girls – should have these lessons. I even learned something new! You’re a hero!

Women think differently than men and learn differently. We are great at multitasking. It's in our DNA.
