Cristiano Ronaldo finally popped the question to his longtime girlfriend and mother of three of his children, Georgina Rodriguez.
The Portuguese soccer star, 40, and Rodriguez, 31, confirmed their engagement on Monday evening with an Instagram photo of her massive diamond engagement ring.
Ronaldo’s fans wondered why he took so long to propose to Rodriguez.
When Ronaldo and Rodriguez met in 2016, he was already a father to son Cristiano Jr. (via a surrogate). He had just ended his 5-year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk in 2015.

Ronaldo was a worldwide superstar earning millions of dollars a week, while Rodriguez worked as a part-time model and an assistant at a high-end boutique in Madrid.
Ronaldo’s friends say he wasn’t ready to be married to someone who wasn’t his equal.
However, they welcomed their first biological child, a girl, in November 2017, just four months after he welcomed fraternal twins Eva and Mateo, via a surrogate.

In 2021, he announced they were expecting his second set of fraternal twins in 2022. But they were devastated when their male twin died during childbirth.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” they wrote at the time.
“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
Ronaldo is a father-of-six children (5 living).
