Update: The NY Giants officially named 22-year-old rookie Jaxson Dart as the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Chargers.
The Giants announced the QB change on Tuesday.
The move comes after head coach Brian Daboll benched Wilson against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 21.
Both teams came into Sunday night’s game with 0-2 records. But Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs dominated the Giants to win their first game of the season 22-9.
Giants fans booed Wilson after he completed 18 passes for 160 yards, 0 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.
The Giants fell to 0-3 on the season, while Mahomes and the Chiefs are 1-2.
In 2024 the Denver Broncos benched Wilson then cut him from the team.
Everyone thought Wilson’s career was over. But he rebounded a month later and signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In March 2025, Wilson signed a one-year deal with the NY Giants worth a reported $21 million.
Meanwhile, Wilson’s 3BRAND kids’ clothing line passed the $100 million mark in sales last year and continues to grow in 2025.
Wilson launched 3BRAND clothing with his pop singer wife Ciara in 2021.
They came up with the idea for a children’s clothing line while watching her 11-year-old son, Future Zahir Wilburn-Wilson, run around the room. Wilson thought it would be a good idea to make a clothing brand for children.
“I’ve always liked fashion, but I grew up wearing sports clothes and going to school in polos and khakis,” Wilson said.
Wilson will soon have more time to commit to his family and business endeavors.
