Eboni K Williams shared her legal opinion on the Eddie and Wendy Osefo insurance fraud case.
Wendy and Eddie were arrested on October 9 after receiving $450,000 in payouts from three separate insurance companies. The couple alleged that their home was burglarized in April 2024 while they were on vacation in Jamaica.
They said the burglars stole designer bags and jewelry, including her diamond wedding ring.

The prosecutor said Wendy and Eddie failed to tell the insurance companies of the separate payouts.
They were busted when she was caught wearing a diamond ring that she claimed was stolen in the burglary.
In a chat with Carlos King, Eboni said the couple will get prison time.

Eboni explained, “This sheriff’s office, this prosecutor have already told us, Carlos King, that they are making examples out of these wealthy, famous Black people.”
She continued: “We know that from the press conference alone. And we also know that – clock tea – when that state’s attorney came out and one of the first things he said out of his mouth was ‘Don’t think of insurance fraud as a victimless crime.’ He didn’t have to say that.”
Eboni added:
“The first foundational premise of his remarks was that this [crime] impacts you and me. This impacts every American that holds an insurance policy in any capacity. And all of us are impacted negatively when people go about the business of committing insurance fraud. All of our premiums rise, all of our coverage decreases. He went into all of that, first and foremost. That is an indicator, Carlos, that they intend to be as harsh at scrutinizing as legally possible in this particular matter.”
