Toymaker Mattel has honored dancer, choreographer and actress Debbie Allen with her own Barbie Signature doll.
The doll is available at all Target stores and online for $40.49.
Allen’s doll portrays the 75-year-old as fictional character Lydia Grant from the 1980 movie and TV series “Fame”.
The breakthrough role made Allen the first Black woman to win a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a television comedy or musical.
Allen shared photos and videos of her doll on her Instagram page.
She captioned one photo: “As a little girl growing up in Houston, Texas, I never imagined this moment. To now see a Barbie that reflects my journey, my joy, and my dreams. May every child see themselves and know they can be anything. Purchase yours now at the link in my bio. #Barbie.”
