Reality TV star Mia Thornton broke down crying while she was being arrested for theft at Atlanta’s Hartsfield Airport on Wednesday.
Thornton, 40, was taken into custody for allegedly stealing furniture worth more than $11,000 from a condo she rented.
“Officers assigned to Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport responded to a wanted person call at the Customs and Border Protection office,” a spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement. “Officers identified the individual as Ms. Mia Fields-Thornton, who had an active City of Atlanta warrant related to a larceny involving an alleged furniture theft.”

Bodycam video shows police politely speaking to the reality TV star while handcuffing her wrists behind her back.
An employee at Encore Property Management reported the theft earlier this month on behalf of a landlord who lives in China and “owns one of the condo suites on their property.”
The management company rented out the condo to two people: Mia and Jared McGriff. The company claimed that, “without notifying anyone, [they] suddenly moved out of the unit in the middle of the night” on October 28 and “took all of the furniture,” including a flat-screen TV.
On the bodycam footage, Thornton can be heard telling the officer that McGriff has a storage unit key.
“I just want him to put that furniture back, enough is enough,” she said. Thornton added that she sent several emails to her “roommate” to put the furniture back. “It’s ridiculous,” she said.
Thornton was then escorted through the airport to a waiting patrol car for her ride to the Fulton County Jail in downtown Atlanta.
Police records show Thornton was wanted for stealing furniture, TVs, radios and DVD players from the condo.

Thornton previously starred in Bravo’s “Real Housewives of Potomac” for three seasons until departing the show earlier this year.
She announced her family was relocating to Atlanta, “and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season.”
After thanking Bravo, NBCUniversal and Andy Cohen for believing in her, she announced: “Big things are coming. ‘I don’t just make headlines — I make History.’ Atlanta, brace yourself. The empire has expanded.”
