Nick Cannon has 12 children by six different women, but his eldest daughter Monroe, a.k.a. Roe, says she only has one brother – her 14-year-old twin, Moroccan Cannon.
In a post on her Instagram Story, Roe wrote: “Clearing something up guys! I only have ONE brother who is @moroccan.cannon.”
Roe acknowledged she does have half-siblings on her father’s side, but they are many years younger than her.
Nick shares Roe and Roc with pop superstar Mariah Carey. He has 10 other children by 5 women.
Fans were surprised by Roe’s statement because she and Roc were pictured on play dates with their half siblings.
Nick welcomed his second child with Alyssa Scott in December 2022. The baby was his 12th overall.
Monroe is more outspoken than her brother. She is following in her mom Mariah’s footsteps and is a singer herself.
“As they grow up and decide what to do with their lives, it’s really nice for me to be able to see them performing onstage,” Mariah told PEOPLE in December 2023. “I even like watching them getting ready, preparing to perform.”
In early 2023 Mariah asked a court to award her primary custody of the twins because Nick was unfit.
A source told Radaronline.com that Mariah and Nick have a co-parenting arrangement since their 2014 divorce.
“The reality of the situation is that Monroe and Moroccan are usually with Mariah anyway. Nick doesn’t see much of them,” said the source.
The source added, “But she wants to put him on notice that he can’t just flit in and out of their lives while he attends to his other children. And she wants legal standing as the twins’ primary caregiver.”
Mariah isn’t trying to punish Nick, the source said, she just wants what’s best for the twins.
