Oklahoma principal Kirk Moore risked his life to disarm a school shooter at Pauls Valley High School on April 7.
Surveillance video shows the armed man enter the school and point a handgun at a student who ran away.
Principal Moore, 60, charged at the man, later identified as 20-year-old Victor Lee Hawkins. Moore tackled Hawkins and they both fell onto a bench.
Moore forced the gun out of Hawkins’ hand and it fell onto the floor.
Another school official kicked the weapon away and went to call 911.
Hawkins was a former student who said he wanted to shoot up the school “like the Columbine shooters did.”

Moore, who was shot in the leg, was hailed for his courage on social media. A GoFundMe was launched in his name to raise funds to improve the lives of local children.
The GoFundMe does not name an organization as beneficiary. The woman who launched the GoFundMe with a goal of $18,000 wrote on Facebook:
“I started this fundraiser on GoFundMe for principal Kirk Moore. It would mean a lot to me if you could donate or share with others. Any kind of help makes a difference and gets me closer to my goal. Thanks so much.”
She claimed the donations “will go toward new playground equipment at the old and outdated Pauls Valley park, or possibly toward the development of a new school.”
Principal Moore and school officials have not acknowledged the GoFundMe campaign.

Moore thanked local law enforcement and fire departments for their fast response. He is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg and plans on “returning to work as soon as possible” to continue his “life’s work educating the next generation of Oklahoma leaders.”
