President Donald Trump made it clear that Americans’ financial situations isn’t motivating him to end the war with Iran.

Trump was asked about making a deal with Iran as he departed the White House on his way to China to meet with President Xi Jinping on Tuesday.

When a reporter asked if he was worried about Americans’ finances during the ongoing war, Trump said he is “not even a little bit” worried. He added that he doesn’t even think about Americans’ financial situations.

The president said he is only concerned about Iran building a nuclear weapon.

“The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran, they can’t have a nuclear weapon. I don’t think about Americans’ financial situations, I don’t think about anybody, I think about one thing, we cannot let Iran have a nuclear weapon. That’s all.”

Trump’s statement caused uproar on social media.

One person wrote on X.com, “The only truth to come out of his mouth in a long time!”

Another person wrote, “Trump FINALLY told the truth yesterday: He doesn’t GAF about Americans.”

A third person commented, “Trump just wiped out American Dreams by saying he didn’t care about Americans financial situation, before boarding the plane to Bejing.”

A fourth person wrote, “This is what you voted for! The president said he does not care about your financial situation…”
