President Obama’s illegal alien amnesty program has been halted in its tracks by a federal judge in Texas. Obama’s controversial amnesty program to provide foreign criminals and terrorists with driver’s licenses and social security numbers was set to take effect on Wednesday, Feb. 18. But on Tuesday, Judge Andrew Hanen issued a temporary injunction barring the Dept. of Homeland Security from enforcing President Obama’s executive order.
This isn’t the first time Obama has violated the Constitution of the United States by issuing executive orders. But it is the first time (at least this year) that a federal judge has stood up to him.
From KHOU.com:
Attorney General Ken Paxton says U.S. District Judge Hanen’s Monday ruling is a win for “the rule of law in America.”
Hanen’s decision gives a coalition of 26 states led by Texas time to pursue a lawsuit that aims to permanently stop the orders, which could spare up to five million people in the U.S. from deportation.
Gov. Greg Abbott, who as the state’s former attorney general led Texas into the lawsuit, said Hanen’s decision “rightly stops the President’s overreach in its tracks.”
The White House plans to appeal the judge’s ruling all the way to the Supreme Court, where his cronies will ensure the passage of the amnesty bill. But, hopefully by then, Obama will be out of office.
