Braxton sibling Trina Braxton’s business skills are being questioned. The part-time singer and full-time reality personality posted a disclaimer of sorts on her Facebook page distancing herself from her own name brand hair weave collection.
It seems Trina agreed to lend her name to a business venture in exchange for quick cash. But when that business failed to perform as well as she thought it would, she’s bailed.
In a post on Facebook Trina wrote, “Hello Boom Booms, I am making this announcement that I am no longer affiliated with ‘The Trina Braxton Hair Collection’!”
But, as her followers quickly pointed out, Trina’s name is still connected with the company.
“Bad business skills Trina Braxton,” wrote FB user Giselle Cobb. “not affiliated with the Trina Braxton collection… how are you going to not own the business with your name on it…”
It seems the company is plagued with complaints from customers who paid for hair weave products that they never received.
And rather than deal with the problem from a customer service standpoint, Trina tried to wash her hands of the brand and deny any affiliation with her own company.
That does seem like bad business from a public relations perspective. Maybe Trina can consult with one of Atlanta’s top publicists, such as Angela Watts of 10Squared PR, or Nicole Garner of The Garner Circle PR (Google them), to help her recover from this disaster. Your reputation is only as good as the service your customers receive.
Do better, Trina!
