According to online reports, rapper T.I. was summoned to court to answer to probation violations filed by his probation officer.
“We are very disappointed in Mr. Harris’ recent conduct,” U.S. Attorney Sally Yates said in a statement released Friday. “We will make our sentencing recommendation at the revocation hearing.”
A court date has not been set yet.
T.I., real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was busted during a traffic stop on Sept. 1st in West Hollywood after making an illegal u-turn in his Maybach. A search of the vehicle turned up just 3 ecstasy pills.
According to TMZ, T.I. tested positive for opiates (which can be found in a ton of drugs).
The police report doesn’t mention any other drug found in T.I.’s possession.
The probation violations includes possession of a controlled substance (ecstasy), testing positive for opiates and association with a known felon, Cortez Thomas, stage name C-Rod (pictured above with T.I. at the 2008 VMAs).
As I told you earlier, T.I.’s best friend, former P$C member C-Rod and his girlfriend Vanity, were taken into custody along with T.I. and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Cottle during the Sept. 1 traffic stop.
Coincidentally, C-Rod was among those arrested, along with T.I. and Tiny, in a Walgreens parking lot on October 13, 2007, the day the BET Hip Hop Awards was taped in Atlanta.
That arrest resulted in a 12 month-and-one-day sentence for T.I. in federal prison (he was released to an Atlanta halfway house in Dec. 2009 after serving 9 mos.). But charges were dropped against C-Rod, even though it was alleged in ATF documents that Harris gave Thomas $7000 to give to a bodyguard for the purchase of firearms and silencers.

You Know . . . I like T.I. I really do. However, if found guilty that he broke his probation then let the justice system do its thing. Perhaps he needs to really do HARD time for his actions.
I believe that when he went to prison and spent a relatively short time there (for the weapons charge) it did not do the trick of setting him straight. I also believe that his Good Looks and Southern “Charm” is what made his last sentence less severe. T.I. has “cross-over” appeal and that his physical attributes and manner make him less threatening than other Rap artists. Add to this his business acumen; family-man persona and his work with inner-city youth (to better their lives) makes him the poster boy so to speak of what can be in terms of turning one’s life around.
Let’s hope he did NOT blow his Second Chance.

#noshade I’m really just asking this because I’m trying to get it right. What was his previous sentence first of all? Like how many years? Do you know? If he was out on probation that means he was sentenced to something, didn’t serve his full time but got out on probation to finish it all up I guess.
Whatever he served in jail was not his full sentence though. From what I know to be true, if he does get sentenced again, it’ll be whatever he was suppose to serve on what he’d already been locked up for.
Let’s say someone gets 3 years for dope and he gets out in 1 1/2 on parole/probation. If he violates he goes back for the remainder of his previous sentence which is another 1 1/2. I could be wrong. Correct me if I am. I don’t know if they can throw extra charges on you but I thought you just served out what you’d previously been sentenced. Where is attorneymom when you need her??? LOL

YEAH TI IS F-ING UP A BIT.. BUT THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF BLACK MEN WHO ARE DOING POSITIVE THINGS WITH THEMSELVES.. I TEND TO FOCUS ON HE GOOD IN EVERYTHING.. TI ISNT SOO BAD- JUST LIKES TO “PARTY” FROM WHAT I CAN TELL
I think he should be treated like any other celebrity….. another slap on the wrist, pat on the azz, or whatever you want to call it, some drug counseling or he can even check himself into any one of those fancy drug rehab facilities to make himself look really sorry for his actions and more probation and maybe a little jail time to make the judge look “fair”.
He’s not gonna get what the “average joe” would get cause he got above average $$$$. That’s the BIG difference in his case and thousands of the same. He can get any lawyer he wants, most people have to deal with the “public pretender”…..smh
I think more time can be added on to what he already has. Most of the time it is up to the Judge and what the person did.

We call those “allegations” that don’t have any facts to support them. Testing positive for opiates can mean anything, including prescription medication that T.I. was on legally. The evidence suggests that no other drugs were found on T.I. or in the car other than ecstasy.

Sorry Sandra, read your name calling memo after the fact so I take back calling him an idiot and will simply say he made a idiotic decision…. OTB from what I’ve learned in all my years of dealing with the addict, x has so many other drugs in it that popping 3 pills at a time like that could kill you or at least fry your brain. Tucking without it in plastic won’t help cause it’ll disolve and she would still have too much in her system and if they still took them in for any reason they would’ve found it on a cavity check if she wrapped it up or found it if she hid it on her body, Then she would have the added charge of possesion in prison or however they word that and really been doing time. She’s a mom she can’t take those charges cause who’s gonna raise those babies while she’s locked up? In LA they’d give her rehab but that’s still time away from her kids and TI is a busy man. Plus I honestly think she would go crazy locked away while he’s free groupie hopping with no supervision…. they need to take care of whatever comes from this and get out of town away from all their friends/fam/associates if its not work related, he needs a new team that will tell him the truth instead of treating him like royalty when he’s not and take care of those babies before somebody tries to take them.
Mean, percocet oxycodone and oxycotin are opiates too… oxycotin is one of the most addictive drugs out there and anyone caught with that without a rx is fvcked. They’ll take your kids and everything else for that one cause its highly addictive, hard to get off and often abused plus people od on it cause of its strength

I am a long time T.I fan but I do NOT feel sorry for him. You know you’re on probation, you are subject to random drug tests and you’re on the FED’S radar so be on top of your game, this could cost you you’re career and companies are giving you a second and third chance. Yet instead of doing that he chose to still do drugs and have them in his possession. I am starting to think he actually thinks he is exempt from the law but I believe this time big boy you’re going to pay and it’s no one’s fault but yours.

I just got word that if T.I.’s probation is revoked — and that’s a big IF — he will only do 30 days in jail for violating his probation. I’m sure T.I.’s fans are happy to hear the good news.
