A British mom who spent $2,000 on Christmas gifts for her 3 children is defending her “materialistic” spending spree.
Emma Tapping posted a picture of her Christmas tree surrounded by piles of Christmas gifts for her 3 kids. The photo went viral and Tanning is forced her parenting skills.
A week after she posted the photo on Facebook, someone tagged the photo with the caption: “It’s nearly time for all the materialistic parents to compete and broadcast how many presents their kids have. Just remember, there are a lot of children who won’t get much.”
But Tapping denies she is materialistic or overindulging her children with unnecessary presents.
“I know this page is going to get busier and I know I am in the papers today so I thought I would set people straight on a few facts,” Tapping wrote in a Facebook post.
“The presents under the tree are for my children, myself, my partner and my mother, not just the kids,” she wrote. “Please try and remember this is about 3 little children, their christmas, their tree. Feel free to share. Merry Christmas xxxxx.”
Is she wrong? Do you feel guilty when you overspend on Christmas gifts for your children?
