Powerball winner Marie Holmes may have to bail herself out of jail. A criminal summons was issued for the 27-year-old mother-of-four after she allegedly threatened her boyfriend’s concubine, Lorna Marlowe, according to ABC affiliate WWAY.
The criminal summons cited Holmes for making “threatening” and “harassing” phone calls to Marlowe, ABC11 reports.
Holmes’ live-in boyfriend Lamarr McDow, aka “Hot Sauce”, was in jail on drug trafficking charges when Holmes won $188 million in North Carolina’s Powerball Lottery on Feb. 11, 2015.
Holmes was heavily criticized for posting $21 million to bond McDow out of jail on separate occasions.
In an exclusive interview with London’s London’s Daily Mail tabloid, McDow defended Holmes’s decision to pay $21 million to bond him out of jail.
“We are a couple, and I am the father of her youngest child,” he said, referring to the couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Ebony.
“This is what people do for each other. She has the money and she can do what she wants with it.”
McDow added, “People are just jealous because of how much she won and people want to see me locked up in jail.”
Holmes also has 3 children from previous relationships.
Holmes shared a $564 million jackpot with 3 other winners. Her lump sum share was $87 million after taxes.
