Quincy Brown, 24, showed off his new French braids hairstyle during a recent interview with HipHollywood.com.
The singer-turned-actor is the son of former fashion model Kim Porter and R&B singer Al B. Sure!.
Quincy, who dropped his last name out of disrespect for his father, has a small role in Lee Daniels‘ upcoming as-yet-untitled scripted television series about a girl group based in Atlanta.
Actors Benjamin Bratt and Queen Latifah also star in the show, which features the acting debut of Atlanta transvestite Amiyah Scott.
Quincy was tightlipped about the role he plays in the series that wrapped last month in Atlanta.
He described working with the openly gay Daniels as “amazing.”
“We have to make his dream come true. That’s our only job,” said Quincy.
Quincy tells Hiphollywood he auditioned for a role in Daniels’ popular hit series Empire, but he failed to make the cut.
Rumor has it that Daniels wanted Quincy to play the part of a gay man. He was called back 8 times to re-audition for the part but he failed to convince Daniels that he was gay onscreen.
