Pop icon Madonna was stung by all the criticism of her Prince tribute on the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
She responded to social media music critics in a series of posts on her Instagram page. “Deal with it,” she wrote in one post.
“Anyone who wants to do a tribute to Prince is welcome to. Whatever your age Gender or skin Color. If you loved him and he inspired you then show it!!!! I love Prince 4 ever,” Madonna wrote in a caption under a photo of a gregarious Prince-inspired outfit.
In a third post she captioned a video: “This is my “I’m not your bitch don’t hang your shit on me” Dance.”
Clearly she’s upset, but not as upset as Prince fans who expected a fitting tribute to the late rock singer who died under mysterious circumstances at age 57 in his home on April 21.
