Hillary Clinton waited until the day after the election to concede to President-elect Donald Trump.
“Donald Trump is going to be our president… We owe him an open mind and the chance to lead,” she said. “We must accept this result and then look to the future.”
“This loss hurts but please never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is worth it.”
Clinton, who looked pale and exhausted after a sleepless night, said she will work together with Trump “on behalf of our country.”
“Our constitutional democracy demands our participation – not just every four years,” said Clinton, as her husband Bill Clinton fought back tears.
“To Barack and Michelle Obama, our country owes you an enormous debt of gratitude. We thank you for your graceful, determined leadership.”
She added: “Our responsibility as citizens is to keep doing our part, to build that better, stronger, fairer America we seek.”
Obama’s last day in office is January 20, 2017 at 12 noon.
Hillary looks devastated. She's showing remarkable strength and magnanimity. I can't imagine the pain (and shock!) she's feeling.

Hillary is her most authentic when she loses. It's very sad.
