An Indiana mother was hit with 2 felonies for whipping her sons, ages 7 and 9, with a belt after they opened their Christmas gifts early.
Sascha Collins, of Greenfield, was charged with two counts of battery.
Collins told police that her sons, ages 7 and 9, opened their Christmas gifts which she’d hidden in a closet.
The single mother admitted she “lost it” and slammed her sons against a wall then beat them with a belt.
Collins told police “there is no excuse” for abusing her sons the way she did.
Collins’ 16-year-old daughter called police after she came home to find her brothers crying, and noticed welt marks on their bodies.
Hancock County Prosecutor Brent Eaton praised the teenager for coming forward.
“She put somebody else’s interests in front of her own, and she did what was right,” he said.
The teen told police Collins had allegedly been drinking and snorted a hydrocodone pill the night before the incident.
