While researching the appropriate age for hair weave, I came across an article by Briana McCarthy on Essence.com.
McCarthy recalls seeing a young girl at her son’s school, wearing really long hair weave. She wondered if the hair weave wasn’t doing damage to the young girl’s self-esteem (not to mention her edges).
Hair extensions and hair weave have become a necessary staple for young black women who, like the biblical Samson, find strength in really long hair — even if it isn’t theirs.
Some women who live vicariously through their daughters, buy hair weave for their children who are too young to have an awareness of shame or a lack of self-esteem.
McCarthy writes:
As I got in my car and drove away I thought about that young girl. First, I thought about how fast she looked with all that hair in her head. Then I begin to wonder if that weave that made her feel cute was doing more harm to her than good. For some, this may not even be an issue worth talking about. You’ll probably think that since her mother bought it for her to wear, then it has to be okay. That seems like a good answer, but I can’t help but to think about myself at that age. I didn’t know myself at all. I was very impressionable. I was slightly insecure, didn’t understand the meaning of real beauty, and didn’t love myself fully, “flaws” and all. At that age, I wanted to look like the women on television. They had long flowing hair (which in retrospect was probably weave) and wore tons of makeup. That, to me, was what beauty was and I wanted to look them one day. One day, I too, would look as beautiful as those women did. Or, at least that’s what I thought.
Before ya’ll get all crunktastical and assume I’m talking down about people who wear weave, let me clearly state that I am not. Weave is harmless. It is only an accessory. However, weave in the hands of the insecure and the broke can become a dangerous weapon. I’m not trying to be deep or make a big deal out of nothing, but I am wondering if the weave she was wearing will one day make her feel less than.

A bunch of hot a** air,
y’all have a happy safe superbowl weekend , this chyt is about to be beyonce all day…I can’t ,
With all of the stories that are worth posting, why is this a post? Can we discuss Kellyanne Conway referencing a disaster that never happened? What was that about? False news is being created courtesy of the White House and Trump’s appointees.
And what is this a distraction from, Kellyanne Conway’s totally made up Bowling Green Massacre?
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/03/kellyanne-conway-refugees-bowling-green-massacre-never-happened
I just posted the same.
? I think that’s her real hair.
Wtf https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/973983fb23b5e72dcce6f3db750a5b9013d96468396dc472f2e1a98e4ecbfeed.gif
slow news!!
This is a reach. We can clearly see the hair has been added in and doesn’t start at her roots and her edges are baby haired down, not to mention the braids don’t even look tight and we have all seen too tight braids on little girls.
“How Young is Too Young to Wear Hair Extensions?”
How Old is Too Old to Mind Your Flucking Business About What Other Women Do With Their Kids Hair?
She a whole idiot out here….Just make the whole team look bad
She looks sooooo cute! Perfect age appropriate braids… Africans been doing this for centuries…. Maybe RESEARCH OUR CULTURE!
oh stawp! if you grew up in the 90s damn near all the girls were wearing them ugly ass crochets or added hair with beads (my school had mandatory swimming from elementary through middle school) to keep the hair from coming undone.
She stay reaching with TRex arms…smh
This bitch taking alternative facts to a whole new level.
the inventor of alternative facts is about to just roll with it LOL
Blue’s braids are age appropriate. and JESUS she look JUST like her Pappy!!! SHAT!!
The picture, topic and headline has me very confused.
Hair extensions and Braid extensions are two very different things.
And a 5 year old with braid extensions is acceptable. Not only are her edges out but it appears that the braid extension (if there is any) is only at the end of the braid and not the start.
She clearly has a lot of edges and thick hair…those braids are done very loose and they’re age appropriate….
So was Frederick Douglass on Black Twitter yesterday?
She is her father’s child…
nah…I think extension in that
I’m not trying to be deep or make a big deal out of nothing
============================================
No worries.
Day 3 in the month of February and not one black history post? Do they teach black history in England? QTNA
Lol right!
She flipped her hair incessantly and looked at me like she knew she looked good. I didn’t have the heart to tell her that her real hair and her weave weren’t blending well.
====================
As granny would say; this biddy crazy as raccoon with rabies.
PETTY as Fugg.
She need a life…Wonders can you gift a life to someone.
If you aint never popped no baby out you coochie, you should STFU.

The Bowling Green Masscare. HAHAHAHAHA
My girls always had long hair like that.
Nah, he was helping at the Bowling Green Massacre
Blue Ivy is a cutie!!I I say this with love. Sandra Rose, maybe you should do a medical minute on yourself. You’ve got issues girlfriend..
This post just doesn’t even apply to Blu.. those are cute, fun extensions, not too tight and the style is not grown at all..
I think this hairstyle on babies is cute. Now when you doing all those crochets and gluing weave you crossed the line. This is not too tight. It looks loose enough. I love beads on kiddies tho. It’s fine.
Sandra needs to stop
I do too.
And the pic with the flowers is the day after it was done
The other pic is a week or so old
Shrinkage is real
Yall haters stay trying to worry about what Beyonce do with her daughter. Atleast she raised her kids. Some women and men have bad children. Don’t want no one worried about what you do with your kids, stop worry about a rich woman kids.
Im not about to give a reaction to this post here… Im gonna say this and say it one time. Worry about ya own kids and how they look and what is best for their scalp and hair. (case by case basis)
Sandra I would like to think as a BLACK woman you would know about things others will never understand when it comes to hair and Black babies, toddlers, girls, young ladies all the way up to grown Women. I will never defend or explain the decisions I make when it comes to me and my little BLACK girls hair.
I’m natural & my shrinkage is a beast.
Lisa this your first BHM in the Garden?
We’ll get some phucked up history but tis all
She is a beautiful princess and I love these braids on her. She’s so innocent and there is absolutely NOTHING about this hairstyle that makes her look fast.
I keep telling y’all Auntie not Black she is British ? that’s her race
Blue is such a cutie. I guess there is a hair chapter in the Parenting 101 book huh *blank stare* Folks that aren’t parents always have something to say about other peoples kids. Keep reading your parenting books and STFU!!!
I guess spraying an entire bottle of Pump it Up in your hair is ok though…
Thank you!!! My muva kept our hair in styles like these, hot press n curls for church, and plaits, and my hair is still natural and edges in tact. This is just another reason for ppl to judge and drag Bey.
its getting a little sick, and excessive.. idk what the strange obsession is with bey and this baby..
She cant make up alternative facts about Bey’s pregnancy this time. Bey made sure to shut all that shyt down this time.
Sandra is losing her mind.
I told yall……she digging!! Who ever asked downstairs if we would be getting a Bey post today… I said yes….but she is digging
And Godzilla face
I see now how this is going to go until she give birth.
She just gonna write History all over huh
Sista Blue’s hair is well cared for. The braids are not tight at all and the extentions don’t appear to start at the edges. The style is age appropriate. She good.
Hey Roses, Happy Friday!!!
BLACK HISTORY FACT!
Shirley Chisholm was the first African American woman elected to the House of Representatives. She was elected in 1968 and represented the state of New York. She broke ground again four years later in 1972 when she was the first major party African-American candidate and the first female candidate for president of the United States.

I don’t have a problem with the child’s hair. But, I swear some of you take defending Beyonce to a different level. Entirely.
This Briana chick yo new boo or something?
Can we get some Afternoon Wood of Julius
I dont know about yall…but Im comfortable with Auntie not doing any Black History Post. IT will all be alternative facts. If she do one, we may just have to throw the whole post in the trash
That is all Blue’s hair…..
As for age, its up to the parent. It’s not child abuse its just a questionable thing to do like a billion other things parents do with no intent on harming their child.
Ask the kartrashians. Their little girls often wear extensions.
Firstly, Blue has a head full of hair and because you always see it in its natural state, you have no clear idea how long it is until it is pulled straight.
Secondly, if she does have extensions, I am pretty sure a licensed professional did her hair and took care not to damage it.
Thirdly, there is a system of adding hair to the natural hair wherein they braid the natural hair down to a point then add the extension to the end…have seen amazing little girl hairs styles with this process and it does not damage the hair.
Lastly, since Blue seems to have thin hair, to actually have her braids have definition AND last, adding hair would be optimal.
MOST IMPORTANTLY…..HER PARENTS ARE OKAY WITH IT, SO WHAT IS THE ISSUE? If she go bald, they can contact con-ald’s doctor for the shyt he uses for his “splendiferous blond coif “. #PROBLEMSOLVED
Beyonce mother has a lot of hair, solange has a lot of healthy hair and Im pretty sure Beyonce has a lot of hair under her wigs as well. Willing to bet Beyonce knows how to keep her daughters hair healthy. I doubt she needs advice on whether or not to add BRAIDED extensions to her child’s hair…
Ask them how old is too old to be worried about dumbshyt?!
I know……because I dont pick on kids
Smh…people love to worry about the wrong things..
Ayyyyyyyyeeee!!! Represent!!!!
Sandra is so jealous of Bey it’s disgusting! You should be ashamed of yourself.
*yawn* really?
Blue is adorbs. ??
I swear Sandra is the female Sam J character in Django.. She probably cried when he died in the movie crying over his white master.
I see you Whang….up in this thang
Was she in an accident because in every photo something seems off?
In other news. Over 100k visas have been revoked under Trump. Wonk wonk

These comments! But when Kim K put extensions in North’s hair folks had a fit. Y’all will take a bullet for Beyoncé, but would she take one for y’all?!????
Jesus christ let this child live. The hair style is appropriate for her age, also Blu has tons of hair, there may not be any extra hair added. This is not newsworthy…Sandra stop being a hater….

Blu is growing into a pretty young lady.
So, is this how it’s going to be for the next 4-5 months until dem babies drop? Bey posts all day every day?
This pregnancy got Sandy like this…. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5e8d898c848535e7a462567824f57ec1305e70b4ca0c5ef22f6a93a0bf125103.gif
There is so much more going on in the world than to keep talking about that child and her mom’s pregnancy. No disrespect congrats to them but she is not the first nor will be the last to give birth or have twins. Sorry not sorry Beyhive. We need to concern ourselves with making it through these 4 years hopefully less with a psycho in the White House. I know black folks have survived much worse of course and we wil again however black people need to get more united period.
Secondly, if she does have extensions, I am pretty sure a licensed professional did her hair and took care not to damage it.
——————————
Her granny IS a licensed professional hair stylist. Her granny knows whats best for her hair.
Cute little style!
1) Why folks are so concerned with what Black women do with THEIR hair? LOL. Other races of women have been wearing weaves, wigs, extensions, etc. for DECADES, but some Black folks, men AND women, drool over them and don’t say a word. SMH. And, if you’re not damaging a child’s hair with the additions… what’s the big deal? Extensions are also used as protective styles yanno. *bemused chuckle*
2) That being said—-Sandra now you know Beyonce can do NO wrong. Even if she were to set Blue Ivy on fire—her die-hard stans would be like “Blue looks so cute in those flames!”
You need to cut it…
Same thing I said up top….there is a process that adds the hair to the end.

I’m dying. I can’t stand raggedyAnn conartist.
As I read more the article CLEARLY said: “They weren’t wearing cornrows with jumbo braiding hair added or individual braids with weave. No, these girls were rocking what looked like waist-length, virgin Indian hair with a u-part and perfect wand curls. I’m talking about some serious hair here.” Soooo why is little Blue’s picture up here when her hairstyle is NOT the topic of the article?????
WTF does this mean? “However, weave in the hands of the insecure and the broke can become a dangerous weapon.”
So insecure, broke folks going around killing people with weave, now?
CTHU…..girl come get your hug me jacket and join Sandy and con-ald!!! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/36689bbe5829a9ff17852e5d9e0a221d140343aa053e6b42c1353510402ab748.gif

Come on through Shirley!!
I am sure!! But folks running out and getting fitted for them!!
I’m not a fan, I do appreciate Bey’s work ethic, there is nothing wrong with this hairstyle, however wearing weave to the middle of your back is a problem, let little girls be little girl.
ummmm Whang.. Have you been in this place before? Im asking for another friend on the Blog
When my daughter was little my sister was babysitting while I went to work and this bish put finger waves in her hair. lets just say she never did that again.

LMAO…I’M LURK MODE TODAY, BUT WE’RE REALLY DOING THIS?? TODAY?
Blu is always so age appropriate. Love what a wonderful job her parents are doing. It’s easy to see they have adopted the village concept. Unlike the Kardashian-West family https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/fc8bab6a3e96d2cef4b89e10ea41d65c151247fde5bc31fa7a016741085c9cac.gif
Lol…say you don’t be thinking that when you see chicks with bad weaves!!! (turns up lips in disbelief)
You know many a degenerative life of crime has started with one weft.
Stay woke! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/adf60a6e2371eb61ed06e11e80488e695ce1b05aba500eece1116c5034cde3bf.gif

I know, Hun!!
Ok! Extensions and creativity is our culture…not self hate
I’ve seen weave extensions turn moldy on top of the head of a unborn black fetus inside the womb. & once born comes out with a face full of weave-acne, baby looking for cover creme among the unopened gifts from last weeks unknown siblings baby shower at Popeyes.
LMAO
Bloop
Stay in your lane Sandra! Blue ?????always look like a little girl so stop being messy but #Youcanthelpthat because you’re jealous of the Carters.
But then right after that…Chyna’s lil boy got called “brainy” so ummm….smh.
TO THAT POINT I SAY THE OBAMA GIRLS WEREN’T OFF LIMITS…SO MEH. TO THIS ^ POINT? CHILE CHEESE. LOL
ESPECIALLY THESE IDEOLOGIES
I was just about to ask…why does everything that isnot worth discussing have to be up for discussion? There are more relevant, impacting topics to debate no? It doesnt have to be politics but we also don’t have to discuss a 5-year olds braided-in extensions like this is a signal of the end of the world either.
“Blue looks so cute in those flames!” https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a648a31134ec67ad2b492c11d720178843ea18036e119dd8164b468624c83747.jpg

Nope…WE are not…she is
Bluby is a cutie.
Speak LowLow!!
Jesus these aren’t bundles just braids. Those little girls in pagents go all out with hair and makeup and this style Blu hair is nowhere close to that.
But what about kids who have hair down their back naturally??? Or is this a problem because of who it is https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/fadcfa4ac072cd83fd22a1788683debfff7458492e7ee9129a3fafd2b5f28a6e.gif

New Post – Actual Weave wearer taking on a Designer…not the wrapper.
New post
I dont ever see Blue acting a fool like somebody else’s little snot nose bratty child. She has beautiful hair, style and home training. Even her mean mugs are with manners. I dont even care much for Bey as a person but this little girl is always on point.
I woke-up to this dumb shyt. Sandra is not gonna be satisfied until Jay-Z send them boys to her house. Stop talking about folks kids.
yes, I remember. I said NO that day too. I have kids, so anything negative about kids is a NO
she has the hairstyle of a child. I’ve noticed little girls her age in weave and with a perm. as long as the style is kept age appropriate, i see no issue. AT least were not seeing this. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/18f2436297ac870636009efa671980da13f96b096d1a81ba2860f9e2b9c7ca95.jpg
My thoughts exactly these aren’t bundles these are braids. She isn’t the first parent to get her daughter’s hair braided with a little additional help. However you always choose to place emphasis on Beyoncé because you don’t like her which you make very obvious. This little girl is beautiful, Kim Kardashian placed extensions in her daughter’s hair when it was braided did you point that out? more than likely no you didn’t.
What about these poor lil mulatto/mixed (no offense) girls..whose mothers don’t know what to do with their hair?
Surely they can find a sistah, or the sistah of a sistah..to tell them how to care for and style their mixed child’s hair?! Hair all over their heads, with one random ponytail where it shouldn’t be. Tragic.
Let’s get miffed about THAT!
Chile..lemme get out this post…

I knew certain people would ignore the post and go straight to the comments. Here is what you missed: “Photos for illustration purposes only”
Who’s talking about folks kids? Maybe you should read the post before commenting. Here is what you missed: “Photos for illustration purposes only”
Beyonce even Photoshop blues complexion
Did you see this part at the end of my post?: “Photos for illustration purposes only”
Will have you looking crazy every time… Especially with these Crystal kids
Hey Whang ??
As long as the braids aren’t too heavy, I think 5 or so is fine. The key is that the braids shouldn’t be pulling on the child’s scalp. I’m not down with weave for the sake of weave, but I don’t mind braids. They are natural and help to keep the hair neat, and allow us to not pull our hair out trying to detangle every day.
Blue so pretty and sassy just like I like little girls to be
I bet she looked darling! At least your sis didn’t put weave in her head.
That’s little Zoey. She is about 15, 16 mos now. She has more hair, always dresses fly and she even has a little Range Rover. Lol. It was her 1st birthday gift. Her mom controls the remote. She is the most!
This isn’t funny.
I don’t see any Beyonce in this kid about 95% Jay Z.
You should’ve read my post to the end, where it clearly says: “Photos for illustration purposes only”
Plenty of evidence, experience and research can support my comment (How about your own?)..
She is such a cutie pie!
Relaxers and fake hair are not good for kids. You arent suppose to put a perm in a kids hair into after they are like 12. This is just plain cosmo school. Perms change the texture and the chemicals leech. Its not good for you so what makes you think its good for a kid. This is classic “fake it til you make it”. But you never going to make it cause you f’ing up the product. You laugh at people with no edges and then you create the problem in your children. Just say it, you think your kid is ugly and you trying to make them cute. Your braider isnt going to say anything cause they need the sale, but look at their kids. I went to a well known braid/natural hair school.
Now, if you would like to put braids in for (at most) a couple weeks for a special event then make sure the person isnt using too much hair. Traction alopecia. Thining hair.
Stop living through your kids. Just because you wish you would’ve been more “out there” doesnt mean you need to push your kid. Ive beening dying my hair since I was 12. Different shadrs and colors. My hair has only fallen out twice and grew back. It grew back because I didnt start when i was 4 and I give my hair breaks (when I can). Plus i was getting paid. Dont f up your kids hair for free. I know a lot of self-conscience women who wish they could go back in time.
Well it was the WRONG type of illustration…you tried it
What’s the appropriate age for fake eye color
Sandford, that’s her kid and she can do whatever she chooses. You should be ashamed of yourself……posting something to garner up negative feedback on someone else child.
Dang Sandra..they coming fo u
??????????
Sandra, leave Beyonce daughter alone. You make money off of dragging the Carter’s everyday! You definitely have a low self esteem!!! Children are off limits! That’s their got Damn daughter!!! Who ask you???
Well that is her dad dumbašš
What?
Weave is heavy and drying. Its not good for kids. If that picture was of any other kid people wouldnt be so mad with sandra.
I think some parents take it too far but Blue’s hair is cute and age appropriate
Some people
That’s because she did not have her. And the pregnancy picture now is photo shopped
???
I didnt know beyonce was that loved around here. I actually found this blog cause I typed in “beyonce overrated”. I was just tired of her.
Trump said it’s African American history month, that means Sandra isn’t part of it!
How about you decide for your children?
I’ve seen moldy weave extensions on top of the heads of other peoples children.with faces full of weave-acne, running around looking for cover creme among the unopened gifts from last weeks baseborn baby shower at my local Popeye’s. I could not turn down the online invite.
Beyonce know she is wrong for this. Blue has short nappy hair. Get used it.
I just bawled out loud in them white people’s office!! Funniest shyte I have seen EVAH!!
*crine* I always wondered if this shyte was for serious? Like seriously? o_O
Oh my, that is Jay-Z all day. Poor baby.
Fortunately, my daughter always had her own, naturally long and beautiful hair–and both she and I were meticulous about maintaining it, which is the key to healthy hair. You couldn’t pay her to put that weave mess in her hair, and I’m glad.
Hair weave is an overly consumed commercial product that only benefits its Asian manufacturers, and their cronies (retailers) in the States. Black retailers and wholesalers are largely and intentionally blocked from accessing the market. And billions of dollars are generated by these companies at the expense of Black women.
Interesting side note: Its been said that North Korea’s government earns much of its income from heroin and hair weave.
And I’m sorry, weave really does nothing but add only a little bit of very superficial beauty, and its outrageously expensive. On the other hand, there are lots of beautiful women with short or no hair and naturals as well.
Work on becoming a more attractive person from within, and take care of your own hair, that way you won’t be sending your dollars to Asians who have no respect for Black Culture.
It’s not a good idea to introduce weave and/or perm to a child’s hair whom is this young so I personally would not put weave in my child’s hair but it does look nice on Blue, hopefully this is a one time thing and Beyonce doesn’t make this a habit.
@ one random ponytail ?

…..that part…?
You sound ignorant. Blu actually has long thick coily hair. Beautiful indeed.

Oooop
At least she still looks like a kid with hers, it’s cute.
Blu aint worried because she’s working on her own line of hair care products, fragrances and etc ?
Looking at Blu’s hair on this picture that doesn’t look like she has hair weave in her hair. As someone who braids the start of that braid would be much thicker and raised if her hair was weaved!!
I braid hair also and you can introduce extra hair into the braid at any point. Which is the case with Blu because her hair is not that length.
She lost me after, “As I got in my car and drove away I thought about that young girl. First, I thought about how fast she looked with all that hair in her head.” Check your misogynistic views at the door.
A ZIP AND A DOUBLE CUP LMAO…WELL ONE OF THOSE!
Sandra you need to stop! That is not weave! Funny how when you comb out little afros and puffs, there’s actually length.
Geez…I mean Black folk/kids have been wearing braids w/without extension…some of yall need to knock it off.
*For some kids hair its better to add hair it makes it last longer.
Blue Ivy is now a brand, a public figure at age 5 thanks to her parents who will be selling products on her behalf. Just like that other child who will be selling kiddy negligees and furs if you go by how her parents dress her. So people will comment on the brand and the public persona.
But back to the question, kids have tender hair and skulls and other than adding soft products for baby hair hair strength and health, parents should refrain from strong chemicals or adding hair to their heads until they are older.
she hate because she ugly (inside out)
It is Bey Season once again!!!
Her hair doesn’t look braided tight so it’s okay I believe.
Since daily talk will be about her pregnancy, I did read that women who have a surrogate will often wear protate belly (those who can afford it) and as the real carrier belly grows, the other mother will switch it so she can feel the pregnancy weight etc… A psychology thing.
STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!! Oh the agony of the email…wth?? People be too concerned with other people! Leave it alone let her be a million girl and live!!!!!!! #blackgirlmagic
Seriously. Always so nasty to people.
Y didnt you use north’s pic with extensions?
Especially Beyonce
Nothing wrong with “braiding hair” Auntie act like she has 4 bundles sewed in… When I was 4-6 my mom had crochet braids added into my hair. Till this day, my hair is long healthy and I have all of my edges. Braids are also easier to deal when kids are in the water often!
Right how you look fast?? Lol & how old was the lil girl
Lol
Thats a weave?
Show me a pic of Blue’s naturally long thick coily hair…There’s nothing wrong with nappy hair.
probably I was so mad when I saw. It was hard too LOL.
Hahahaha
Blue is so cute! Her braids are just fine nothing wrong with them it fact it maybe most of her own hair anyway
I could not see pass the waves. LOL
I guarantee, that was written by a bish with no kids, no man and a going nowhere fast career. “As I get into my car” the last thing I’m thinking about is some chit written on Sandra Rose.
I’m dying!!
A bunch of dummies. We have been wearing extensions in braids for centuries.

Sandra needs a new obsession her beyawnce fixation has grown tired
Sandra needs a new obsession her beyawnce fixation has grown tired
Her braids and beads are appropriate for her age and Blue Ivy is such a pretty little girl!!! Yeap, that’s all I got for this post!

I figure its up to each parent, but it never hurts to have a discussion.
I’m so tired of this world being so occupied with what women (especially black women) are doing with their hair. I shaved my head bald and I love it. But it doesn’t quite work in my work industry. So I throw on a hair hat ? during the work week. I like separating my life in this way. This is my truth, not yours, hers or his. ? Happy Friday!
I thought the extensions were too much.. and it didn’t look like a
Professional job to me… but whatevs!!!
Yes it is mine . BHM in the garden
I have natural curls(that is my hair in my avatar straightened) and I will put a weave in anytime I want to. People have to make everything into a political statement. Sooo….I hate myself and my normally puffy hair because I want to switch up my look at times? Do you ladies, because I’m damn sure going to continue doing me.
Oh ok. I get it.
She brings the crazies out
no
Sandra rose mind your dammm business. Go have yu own pickney. Can breed, didn’t think so.
Braids and weaves are healthy when you are trying to grow natural hair out esp on children….. weaves are a good thing if done right and not too tight etc… when BIC is in her teens she will be sitting on her hair if it stays healthy.. #protectivestyling
Boy folks aren’t gonna be happy until they see this kid in therapy at 8. This is all new to her. She was born into spotlights and cameras in her face. Cut the kid some slack. Now her hair’s braided, problem. Mother lets her wear it natural, problem. Afro puffs, big problem. Let the kids, in general, be.
Blue Cheese is starting to look like Janet Jackson. Hmm….
Well in American, it don’t count. She Negroess here
I bet The Photographer photoshopped Beyonce’s head onto the surrogate mother’s body. There! Thank Me later.
Exactly. Her hair is long. I wore my hair natural for a few years & my hair was long as hell when I flat ironed or braided it. Much longer than my twist style made it look
I think Jay was the photographer here. Blue is growing up to fast hence the hair extensions. Let this beautiful child be a child.
Chile! Folks complaining about others being rude and nasty so they can be their replacement. Folks trying to teach and spread knowledge one minute and playing the clown the next. Too much. Read, comment and move on without forcing others to see your opinion the same way!
Teenage pregnancy, unwed parents, drug abusers, drug king pins, incarceration, multiple fathers, welfare recipient, uneducated and unemployed. Yet the focus placed on the minority black people comprise.
I personally don’t like hair added to the heads of very young children, but, to each his own. I think if these children’s parents display them on a public platform, however, they also open them up to endless discussion and sometimes insult about their appearance, behavior, etc. This woman put these pics of her child out to be viewed and discussed, giving viewers the right to state their feelings, whether positive or negative.
Thank you ?
Hell…At least she’s doing Blues hair now. I remember back when she had that lil girl looking all kinds of crazy.
Beautiful in spirit
Lil Blue is cute. She resembles her father but enough of her mother comes through to save her. Of course, she’s not the cutest little kid we’ve seen. Okay, I say it. She’s no North West. But she’s adorable and I’m glad she’s going to have siblings.
I don’t think NW is adorable. No matter what they dress her in, she looks like a boy. I’ll leave it at that.
Beyonce must’ve done her hair. lol
I never said anything about Pretty Blue Ivy; Just her attention seeking famewhore of a mother. I actually feel bad that Blu is being dragged in the spotlight instead of just being able to be a child.
How about waiting until Blue Ivy is old enough to choose for herself if she wants to be in the spotlight.
Nw is average, I hope you’re not one that thinks if you’re mixed you’re cute because ummm no!
How old is too old to still be sporting 1990’s freeze curls/waves.. just curious ?
Exactly my thoughts. As long as its age appropriate and not destroying the natural hair.
No such thing as long as the hair style is age appropriate. Like people, calm down. It ain’t like Blue got 3 packs and a lace closure. Dayum
Omggggg YES!!! White women been wearing weaves and wigs since forever. Hell EVERYBODY on any American paper bill got on a dayum wig, but who’s complaining about them????
Leave this baby alone!!!?
I hope little poo grows into her looks. As it stands, she looks just like her ugly daddy.
Sandra I didn’t read all that. It’s BS. The child’s hair is in corn rows and very age appropriate. It’s a great protective style that allows the child to grow and retain length. As a busy mother I know that braids were my saving grace at times with two daughters, especially when I was really busy with my work.
if you are still alive you are to young for extentions
???
Blue Ivy is so BEAUTIFUL!!!
???????
I think she let Blue pick out the beads lol
She is just soooooo beautiful….???I would spoil the crap out of her with hugs and kisses …Bey soo blessed.
???
?
.
People need to worry about their own children’s hair (if u have any). Writing up a trillion books or post wont change the fact that people are gonna do what they want with their kids.
“faces full of weave-acne” = ___________________
Wrong. That’s not new or unusual. My hair and my cousins were the exact same way when I was under 10. Beads and all. And let’s not forget Venus and Serena.
Africans have been weaving sisal fibers into braids since the beginning of time. Please stop with the ignorance. It’s a beautiful representation of our culture.
As for the lack of long hair thing smdh you need to go to Louisiana. Long hair isn’t a big deal or a crown. You want natural long hair trim it regularly and the ish will grow. Pretty simple!!
I remember growing up attaching scarfs and other articles of clothing to my hair to mimic my mothers beautiful mid back tresses, But I never wore a Weave.
Smdh even the men did for a very very long time. Some still do in Parliament in England.
I detest uninformed blk people making ridiculous statements about black culture. We literally started everything. We have no need to emulate because that’s what every one else does to us! #facts
I think as Blue ages the better she looks.
North is Beautiful??
Looks like her Tan Faded
That’s not hair extension. Blue Ivy’s hair is long. Maybe Beyonce finally flat iron Blue’s hair and braided it
I think Blue is the perfect mixture of Beyonce and Jay. I’ve seen pictures of Beyonce as a child and she looked the same way Blue looks now
That’s Blue’s hair. Beyonce clearly flat iron it.
oh my goodness she looks too cute what an adorable child very pretty! and by the by that is not a weave it is corn row with extensions which ihave even seen kim k and kourtney ks daughters wearing before when they had corn rows in
Blue hair is Not that long
Cornrows help the hair grow and give mothers a break from day to day styling. As long as it is not tight, it’s all right. Blue is a cutie. Her hairstyle is a child’s style and maybe she wanta to be like her auntie Solange.
she is so cute.
Blatant hair extensions.
Dang, they were just making an observation. Some kids take after their momma more, some the daddy.
Have you ever pulled down tight curls?? My daughter’s hair is at her shoulders curled and is almost to her ass when pulled straight.
But the comment within itself is still stupid regardless.
She is a nice blend of both her parents features. Pretty kid.
Yes, just like my nieces, I understand shrinkage but that is not what Blue is experiencing.
Anyone can clearly get an idea of the length of Blues hair from Bey Formation video where she had the picked out Afro with no shrinkage
When it comes to braids or cornrows the added hair is sometimes needed you just have to be very careful it doesn’t take out edges or cause damage.. So at her age no i wouldnt at least until 10
Those are extensions braided into her real hair. I hope her edges dont break off. I dont understand why the extra hair was used if according to her daddy she has “good hair” or “new orleans hair” as he said in one of his raps
Thats true but your child doesnt need hair weave for a braiding stlye like this.
Dont she though poor child LOL as she gets older she will look more like his camel looking arse…this was beyonce curse for being so darn vain
No she dont
It has nothing to do with being mixed. She’s more ethnic than white. She’s just pretty. Blue had a shot of being that pretty but her mother chose a harsh looking man to father her children. It is what it is.
She is beautiful.. Her braids are beautiful.. This article might do her more harm.. Kids dont see rights or wrongs until adults label them as such.. Her parents won’t do anything to harm her..
I guess your pretty is my average in this case, agree to disagree.
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/ba5b22aded6f2511064bbdd3dc1d11c7efe89337f7048266c2de5fd36ccb52a9.png
Her hair is full but not waist length. Those are hair extensions. To each his own. Live and let live. Blue’s extensions are beautiful and look loosely and gently braided. Love how her mother is permitting her to be free and unfussed.
Do not have an issue with hair growth, length, straightening with my daughter, so I can’t relate to whatever compels a mother to want to use hair extensions on a young child so I don’t judge.
I personally prefer modest styling for girls children with long hair. For my daughter, I do wash and go and leave out, simple middle part and leave down, or two simple braided ponytails. I keep it moisturized with carrot oil and let my baby girl be free and unfussed.
And if my daughter had shorter tighter textured hair, I would not use hair extensions. I’d cut it even shorter and keep it moisturized, lightly twisted and neat. I’m a fan of locks for all textures hair.
In my opinion, Lil Kim’s daughter is one of the prettiest little girls with the most gorgeous head of natural short hair in Hollywood.
It’s alot going on in the world right now. But Sandra has chosen to shame a child!! Damn shame! Can we have a medical minute for your delusional President? Or an article about that Unclockable Trans named Kellyanne Conway?? Do better Sandra!!
Actually it wasn’t, but bless your heart on this Sunday. ?
Blue could have the same style without weave. But Bey likes long hair and this is a statement that she wishes her daughter had long hair.
It’s not so much she looks just like Jay Z, it’s that she built and shaped like him. High shoulders, extra long arms, chicken legs, flat feet, long head. She doesn’t have to be pretty, she’s wealthy.
Blue is in the same club with JLo’s daughter, Selma Hayek’s daughter, and Christina Onassis daughter. Look them up, you’ll get it.
People say this to be nice. All of Blue’s life people will lie to her and compliment her because of who her parents are and their wealth.
Beyoncé is too secretly colorist and disappointed in her daughter to get used to it.
EXACTLY.
Who says she has weave,, all of my daughters are natural and when I blow dry, or press, or braid their hair it’s comes down their back…. SMH at Sandra…. She’s so jealous of Blue?
Blue does look like both of her parents. More like her father but I do see her mother in her. She is not ugly. Wait until puberty and she start developing her mama’s curves.
Sandra you forgot to add North West and her cousin into your collage. They also wore braids with extensions hell Charlize Theron lets her son wear blonde wigs. If you’re going to call out one family call them all out.
Momma always said, If you don’t have anything nice to say……….
i see both two…especially when I see little beyonce photos
it should be at the parents discretion because THAT is who is taking care of them …
Im sorry guess i missed how hair weave worn by a teen or younger is the same as braids ie singles or cornrolls! Culturally black people have worn braids and added hair (in order to protect their natural hair and it also allows the style to stay longer) for centuries maybe even since the beginning of time. Most of us who have worn braids from youth to womanhood kept our edges because while we were sitting between the knees of mothers cousins aunts and or grandmothers we were getting the best care. They gently braided and oiled our scalps and hairlines. It wasnt until that poison called the relaxer was introduced that the health of our hair changed. If u look back , way back to various braided hair styles you will see that its not braids or extensions added to braids that caused emotional or physical damage to black hair, not when done in love and care.
Blue Ivy is so adorable and looks like both of her parents, especially her dad. Her grandmother Tina is a trained cosmetologist who owned her own salon so there’s no way this child’s hair is going to become damaged by some temporary extensions. Plus, her mother has worn weaves her entire career and I’m quite sure her stylist can assist her, if not already, with this issue. No major story here. We’ll probably see more cute styles on her.
So true. Charlize’s son has box braids with extensions and hair color!
lmfaoo!
lmfaoo!
She is an adorable hybrid of both her parents.
